NAACP hopes to create new chapter in Grosse Pointe

There is a new movement going on for the NAACP as they try to create a new chapter in Grosse Pointe, one of the most affluent and mostly-white neighborhoods.

How does one create a new chapter?

You have to recruit at least 50 people who are each willing to pay $30 for first year’s dues. Tonight supporters hope to do that.

A registration meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. at Rockefeller’s Oyster Bar and Grill in Grosse Pointe Park. Organizers say they even expect to have a few white members.
