Support mixed for UAW contract with Chrysler

Support for the new contract showing less than solidarity. The UAW contract with Chrysler appears to be in jeopardy. A majority of production workers at Warren Truck Assembly and at a Detroit engine plant narrowly voted in favor of the proposed national agreement with Chrysler.

There are only about two days left in voting. At Warren Truck, 53% of production workers reportedly voted yes, most skilled trades workers voted against the deal. At Mack Avenue Engine in Detroit, 51% percent of production workers voted in favor of the contract while skilled trades workers voted no.
