Is there a strike in Ford’s future?

The UAW is threatening to strike next week at a key Ford assembly plant over local contract negotiations, but it would cripple the company. In a note to members, Union Vice President Jimmy Settles said he gave the company a five-day strike notice at the Kansas City Assembly Plant– the plant that makes the F-150 and the Transit commercial van. Settles says the company isn’t bargaining in good faith. The national contract with the union expired September 14, but workers stayed on the job under an extension. Ford says it’s working to avoid a strike .
