A preliminary examination has been scheduled today for a former deputy city clerk in Oak Park and her husband. Stephanie Summer and her husband Michael are charged with stealing $430,000 from the city. The Waterford Township residents are charged with embezzlement, felonies that could send them to prison for up to five years. Summer worked for the city since 2012 as a city clerk and director of elections while her husband worked part-time under her supervision. Summer was fired in March when the embezzlement was uncovered. They have pleaded not guilty.
