Renovation of Detroit’s city blocks to be approved by city council

A new project to revamp 22 city blocks into urban farmland could be approved by City Council soon. The urban farmland project is a $15-million dollar deal between the city of Detroit and Recovery Park. The program seeks to offer jobs to ex-convicts, ex-addicts and veterans. Recovery Park CEO, Gary Wozniak says there are a couple of ways to apply: Michigan Works or at www.recoverypark.org. Pay rates start at $10 per hour with full benefits but are expected to go up to $21.
