Michigan senate approves road plan with hike in gas tax and vehicle fees

There’s been a breakthrough roads deal in Lansing. The Michigan Senate has approved a long term road funding plan. The deal will provide an extra 1.2 billion dollars a year to fix the state’s roads and bridges. The bill calls for a 20% increase in vehicle registration and a 7cents a gallon hike in the gas tax. This package is now headed to the House for a potential vote.
