Homeowner in Redford Township house explosion dies

The homeowner of the house that exploded in Redford Township Sunday has died from his injuries. William Rice, 58, was taken to the hospital in critical condition after the explosion. He died on Tuesday afternoon. The explosion occurred on Gaylord Street near West 7 Mile.The Redford Township Police Department said in a statement that the explosion was caused by a fuel oxygen mixture, also saying, “natural gas has been ruled out as a fuel source. The only other fuel source at the location was propane. Two sources of propane were present at the premises.”
