Detroit Public Schools settles with teen suing Charles Pugh

Detroit Public Schools has reached an undisclosed settlement with a teenager suing the district and former City Council President Charles Pugh. Pugh is accused of sexually assaulting the teen.  DPS is named in the suit because Pugh ran a school mentorship program through the district. The civil trial against Pugh in federal court is underway. The terms of the agreement will remain confidential until the finalized by the parties involved. In videotaped questioning, Pugh admitted several times that he made a mistake in texting a teenager to make a video of himself in a sex act in exchange for prom money.
