A young boy riding his bike was struck and killed as he crossed 9 Mile in Warren. Witnesses say 11-year-old Ashton Michael Vest jutted into traffic in the early evening darkness on Wednesday. The driver, a 25-year-old Warren man, struck the child. Investigators say drugs and alcohol don’t appear to be a factor but are looking into the driver’s speed at the time of the crash. It appears the boy doing errands for his mother.
