Detroit police say a suspect is in custody in connection to the murder of a 91-year old man. The car he stole from the victim was recovered in Detroit with the help of the Southfield police. Earlier Detroit police carried out a raid at the house next door to where Paul Monchnik lived on Bentler Court.
Paul Monchnik. was beaten during a robbery at his home in Northwest Detroit. The robber tried to cover up the crime by setting fire to the house and the body. Monchnik had lived in the home for decades and was a retired TV repair man. His son Scott talked about him Tuesday morning on the Frank Beckmann Show.
