The Meijer store at 16 Mile and Van Dyke in Sterling Heights was evacuated Monday. According to police, a customer made a threat after becoming upset about a purchase.
According to initial reports, the man made remarks about ISIS while arguing with a clerk, then he threw a backpack into the store and fled. Michigan State Police evacuated the store and investigated. Later it was discovered the entire incident had been a misunderstanding.
