Former Judge Richard P. Hathaway has been appointed as the new treasurer for Wayne County. Hathaway, who’s been a county judge for 25 years, takes over for retiring treasurer Ray Wojotoicz, who held the position for 39 years. The treasurer position pays approximately $116,000 and the appointment is only through the next election in November 2016. Officials expect to swear in Hathaway next week
