Department of Justice investigates Chicago Police Department

Chicago Police Department from Twitter

The Department of Justice is poised to launch a civil rights investigation into the deadly police shooting of Laquan McDonald. Meanwhile, newly released police reports are expected to spark outrage. Correspondent Ryan Young says those reports were released over the weekend. The Chicago Police Department was harshly criticized when it reported that the audio was not functioning on the dashcam that recorded the 2014 fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald by Officer Jason Van Dyke. The CPD’s interim superintendent is warning officers that they face disciplinary action if they don’t make sure both the video and the audio of their squad car dashboard cameras are working.
