Thief takes Salvation Army kettle from Farmington Hills Walgreens

On Friday evening, a Salvation Army kettle went missing from Walgreens at 8 Mile and Farmington when the bell ringer went for a bathroom break. The police say they need the public’s help to find the thief. The surveillance video showed the suspect as a white male in his 20’s with a thin build, walking away with the kettle. Anyone with information is asked to call the Farmington Hills Police at (248) 871-2600.

The Farmington Hills police took up a collection and raised $500 to replace what was taken.

UPDATE: SUSPECT CAUGHT.  The Farmington Hills Police Department arrested the thief that stole the Salvation Army kettle. Receiving a tip from a citizen who watched media coverage, the police located 29-year-old Redford Township resident Eric Heinman. Heinman was charged with Possession of Heroin and Larceny. He was arraigned on Sunday with a $5,500 bond.
