Missing car and body found in Byron Township pond

A Byron Township man, Brian Houseman, man may be responsible for solving a 9-year-long missing person case. Houseman tells investigators he was decorating a Christmas tree outside of Cook Funeral Home when he noticed a car submerged in a nearby pond. Kent County Sheriff officials responded and recovered a car registered to 72-year-old Davie Niles of Byron Township. Skeletal remains were inside the vehicle. Niles was last seen in October 2006. The medical examiner will use dental records to determine if those remains belong to Niles.
