Warren fireman in court for fatal crash

A preliminary examination is scheduled for Tuesday for a Warren fireman charged with second degree murder in connection with a fatal car crash. The firefighter, Tad Dennis, was on the force for 15 years. He was off duty when he hit a car head-on last September. The car he hit was driven by a 17-year-old Sterling Heights girl, Diane Pozderca, who was killed in the crash. Investigators say Dennis was driving at least 70 mph in the 35-mile zone when he crossed the center line and hit the girl. His blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit. Dennis was also injured in the crash, he is in a wheelchair, and requires additional surgeries for his injuries.
