A complaint from the Judicial Tenure Commission accuses Judge Lisa Gorcyca of misconduct in her handling of a custody case involving Maya and Omer Tsimhoni’s three children. Gorcyca ordered the three children to juvenile detention for refusing to have lunch with their father this past July. The complaint says Gorcyca “failed to act in a dignified and courteous manner” and made misrepresentations of law and fact. According to the complaint, the oldest child told Gorcyca he did not want to speak to his father because he believed the father was violent, having witnessed him hit the boy’s mother. Gorcyca had deputies handcuff the boy.

The complaint also states Gorcyca told the boy during a contempt hearing that she doubted he has a high IQ, he has no manners, is mentally messed up, and he should research Charlie Manson and his cult because he was brainwashed. The panel is asking the State Supreme Court to appoint a special master to take over the case. A statement from the judge’s attorney says the judge did nothing wrong and will be vindicated.
