Bernie Sanders’ campaign donations exceed 2-million

Bernie Sanders

The Bernie Sanders for President camp is reporting they have received more than 2-million contributions. Donations are coming in at increments smaller than $30, but they portray an “exceptionally wide range of donors.” Most contributions are made over the Internet. The Hillary Clinton campaign has raised more than Sanders, $77.5-million to $41.5-million respectively, but Sanders holds the lead for the most donations of all democrat and republican presidential candidates. According to the Washington Post, “Sanders has already taken in more individual contributions than Obama did at this point in his 2008 campaign for president.” Although Clinton remains the democrat frontrunner for the 2016 election, if history repeats itself, she may have more of a challenge on her hands for the nomination than the public expects.
