The childhood home of former president Bill Clinton was damaged by fire Friday morning about 3:20 a.m.  Located in Hope, Arkansas, the home is marked as a historical landmark. During his campaign years, Clinton often referred to the home as a sign of his humble beginnings. Hope Police Chief J. R. Wilson told USA Today that arson is suspected because of the fire’s location and the smell of accelerant. Graffiti was also spray painted on a hallway wall, but the symbolism is meaningless to authorities as this time. Firefighters say the fire’s flames reached 8 feet high but caused minor damage. The National Park Service operates and maintains the site, and they will conduct an investigation henceforth.
