The number of heroin related deaths in Michigan doubles

The number of heroin related overdose deaths per 100,000 nearly doubled in Michigan and experts say opioid pain relievers, such as Oxycontin, Demerol, and Vicodin, is the reason. If patients who are prescribed these narcotics are not monitored closely, heroin addictions can develop.
