An illegal ATM withdrawal occurred in Chesterfield Township. A vehicle smashed into the Marathon gas station at the corner of Jefferson and Cotton on Wednesday morning and stole the ATM. The police have not released a vehicle description. The incident is similar to other recent smash and grabs in the area, in which a large vehicle, usually a truck or van that has been stolen, backs into the front of the building, a crew quickly chains or lifts the money machine into the vehicle, then the vehicle escapes. The Chesterfield Police Department has two suspects in custody.
