Today is Chanell Berry’s 8th birthday. Sadly, it’s also the day she is being buried. Police say the second grade student was gunned down inside of her own home. Someone fired several shots into the home two days after Christmas, in what police are calling a domestic dispute. Twenty-three-old year old Sharonda Benson and a 22-year-old man from Detroit were identified by police as suspects, taken into custody, but released because of lack of evidence. Chanell’s family started a GoFundMe account to pay for funeral expenses.
