30-year-old Pontiac man is behind bars charged with carjacking. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department says a 78-year-old Washington Township man was approached by Michael Garrett as he was on the Macomb Orchard Trail Saturday morning. The victim says Garrett asked for money and when he told him he had none, Garrett allegedly pulled a knife out. The victim says he turned over his car keys and cell phone. After Garrett fled, the victim flagged down a woman in the area who drove the victim around and soon discovered Garett standing by the victim’s car. The woman confronted Garrett who then gave the vehicle keys and the cell phone back to the victim. Garrett rode off on a bike. Police were called and he was arrested a short time later.
