Two more Detroit Public Schools closed due to teacher sick-outs

No School Sign

Two more Detroit Public Schools are closed as teacher sick-outs continue: East English Village Academy and Mann Learning Community.  King and Renaissance High Schools were closed Thursday because of a lack of teachers. Cass Tech High School and other schools were closed earlier this week. Some of the teachers are aligning themselves with the community organizing group ‘By Any Means Necessary,’ which has been organizing inside Detroit schools for several years. The emergency manager running Detroit’s public schools, Darnell Early,  wants the public’s help in ending teacher strikes.
