The city was under the control of an emergency manager. Earlier this year, the city was run by a transition board, but on Friday the same board voted to return power back to the mayor. This was a move that was suggested by Governor Snyder, so the mayor would have full control of the water crisis. On Friday, Weaver appeared on The View and was asked if she thought Governor Snyder should step down. Weaver responded by saying that’s a decision the governor needs to make, but she also emphasized the people of Flint have been waiting a long time for people to be held accountable. The singer Cher, who has been outspoken on the Flint Water Crisis, also appeared on the show stating she’s donated a truck load of water to the City of Flint.
