A trial is scheduled to resume in Port Huron Monday in the death of a five-year-old girl, Mackenzie Maison. Mackenzie had severe pneumonia in both lungs when she died, but Medical Examiner Daniel Spitz testified last week that the girl’s state of malnutrition and dehyration that led to her becoming sick, making her susceptible to contracting pneumonia. The girls stepmother and father, Hillary and Andrew Maison, are charged with felony murder in Mackenzie’s death.
