A public hearing was jammed over Marathon Petroleum’s effort to get air pollution permits to add more emissions at the oil refinery in Southwest Detroit. They are seeking to increase sulfur dioxide emissions by 22 tons a year in order to meet new EPA fuel standards. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan showed at the hearing to speak out against it.
