Prosecutors said they had a strong circumstantial case against James VanCallis in the murder of Armada teen April Milsap. Monday afternoon, the jury returned a guilty verdict on first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder, kidnapping and sexual assault. The murder took place in July 2014 when prosecutors say VanCallis came across the 14-year-old on the Macomb Orchard Trail. They say he made advances on her and when she refused, he killed her. Sentencing will be on March 30 at 8 a.m.
