Royal Caribbean “Anthem of the Seas” steers into storm but is safe now

Anthem of the Seas from RC site

The cruise ship that was rocked by huge waves and hurricane force winds is safe in port in Bayonne, New Jersey. The Royal Caribbean “Anthem of the Seas” pulled up to the dock about 9 p.m. Wednesday night and passengers could be heard cheering as they arrived. A dream vacation became terror-filled when the world’s third largest cruise ship with 6,000 aboard steered directly into a storm with 125 mile-per-hour winds. One passenger told New York’s ABC-7 that the ship was smashing onto the sea so violently that he repeatedly told his wife, as they held hands, “it’s over.” Royal Caribbean has apologized to the passengers, refunded their money, and offered them 50% off a future cruise. The cruise line said they will conduct a complete review of what happened.
