Detroit police say four people have been shot on the city’s west side, two of them were killed. Chip Smith, 63, was killed at the scene. 43-year-old Jamil Goodwin died at the hospital. Goodwin was a father of seven children. The incident happened on the 2600 block of Hazelwood, between Linwood and Chicago Blvd. According to Assistant Police Chief Steve Dolunt, two gunmen in a black minivan opened fire on the four people who were sitting on a porch. Police do not believe the shooting was random.
