Detroit Public Schools releases 45 day financial operating plan

DPS LOGODetroit Public Schools transition manager Judge Steven Rhodes has delivered a 45 day financial and operating plan to the state of Michigan. The plan lays out the current state of the district, including a 515 million dollar legacy debt and expenses that outnumber revenue. The plan shows a stabilization of enrollment. (45,786 current enrollment) The plan calls for no school closings for the 2016-1017 school year. This is the first step toward returning Detroit Public Schools to local control.
