There’s a new twist in the search for a missing Hamburg Township mother and daughter. Police say they may be traveling with an older male friend .
Amanda Hayward and 7-year-old daughter Sapphire Palmer are believed to be traveling in a red 2001 Ford Escape with Michigan License Plate ‘2HVA18’ along with a 64-year old white male acquaintance, The FBI has joined the investigation.
Hayward and her daughter were last seen leaving their home near Chilson and Bishop Lake in Hamburg Township. They drove away in Hayward’s car which was found in Ypsilanti Township.
According to the alert, the mother of missing child, Amanda Hayward, is suffering from an apparent mental episode. She is paranoid, delusional and may be armed with a 9 mm Hi Point Semi-Auto handgun. Hawyard and her 7-year-old daughter, Sapphire Palmer, are believed to be in the company of Douglas Steven Stanko, age 64, who is a registered sex offender.
