Vice President speaks at NAACP dinner

Vice President Joe Biden spoke last night at the 60th annual NAACP Fight for Freedom Dinner. He addressed the recent unrest in Ferguson and Baltimore, saying the community has a lot of “soul searching” to do.

“You can’t expect relationships between the police and community to improve unless there are actual relationships,” he remarked, “Trying to bridge the gap between community and law enforcement is pretty basic.”

The Vice President spoke for about 45 minutes to the nearly 10,000 on hand.  He also noted and commended Detroit for its comeback.
